Find a subway routeAvailable features
Home shows Seoul and weather information, with separate entries for route planning and station/map search. On desktop, the arrow at the boundary between the left search panel and map collapses or expands the panel while retaining inputs, results and map position. On mobile, switch between search/results and map tabs.
- Choose metropolitan departure and arrival stations, add and reorder up to five stops, then explicitly search. Resetting conditions and clearing results are separate actions.
- Compare fastest and fewest-transfer results and, when supported by the provider, shortest-distance searches. Select local trains, filter lines, and pan or zoom the map covering Lines 1–9, Airport Railroad, Shinbundang, Ui–Sinseol and Sillim. Desktop shows the map beside results; mobile provides tabs.
- Saved routes, recent searches and shared links restore stops, time and train conditions, and result type. Korean, English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese are supported.
- Show available live arrivals, facilities, monthly station ridership, and connected-area weather, population, bikes, parking, events, roads and commerce data.
- The station selected in the top search controls local weather and neighborhood information. City Hall is the initial station; later selections are remembered. This is neither a citywide average nor your current location.
Map coverage
The map shows Lines 1–9 plus Airport Railroad from Seoul Station to Incheon Airport Terminal 2 (14 stations), Shinbundang from Sinsa to Gwanggyo (16), Ui–Sinseol from Sinseol-dong to Bukhansan Ui (13), and Sillim from Saetgang to Gwanaksan (11). Added geometry was verified against the official map dated 2025-09-29. Other metropolitan lines have no geometry yet; inclusion in station search does not imply map coverage. Opening the neighborhood map loads Naver Maps SDK and tiles. Connection information such as IP address and referring domain may be sent to Naver. Places are shown using supplied coordinates or address search results. Location permission is requested only when you select directions from your current location; you can choose a departure station if you decline. Driving directions send origin and destination coordinates to Naver through the API server. Current-location coordinates are not saved in browser storage. Road routes, distances and estimated driving times are separate from subway guidance and do not describe walking routes.
Timetables, express trains and fares
Date, departure, arrival, first/last train, previous/next train and express-only searches are available when the server supports the feature with verified data. Train details, times, sources and reference dates come from actual responses. Partial timetable coverage is marked and does not guarantee an optimal route or the first/last service. The local-train filter is independent of timetable support. Map coverage does not imply route or timetable coverage for every line; these depend on server support for the selected conditions. With the official provider enabled, now/departure searches including all train types can also return verified stations on other operators. Sections without map geometry are not drawn; any fallback to other data is explained.
Fares appear only when supported by response data. A reference fare is not a confirmed fare for the entire selected itinerary. Minimum-fare routing is not offered. Check operator information for supplements, connections and actual service.
Data sources
- Seoul Open Data Plaza: Live subway arrivals, city data, facilities and hourly ridership
- The service map is based on the Seoul Metro metropolitan subway map, licensed under Korea Open Government License Type 1.
Timetable, fare and forecast sources and reference times are shown when supplied in the response. External data, including nationwide weather, depends on server configuration and available responses.
Updates and limitations
Provider update intervals, request limits and connectivity can delay or omit data. Retained earlier results show their reference time, the refresh error and a retry action. Forecasts are not observations; monthly ridership is not live crowding. Facility operating status does not guarantee an accessible journey.
City data is cached for 3 minutes and weather for 10 minutes. Typing, category changes, idle time and tab focus do not trigger automatic polling. Repeated refresh clicks are combined within 30 seconds.
